Checkers, also known as draughts, is a strategic board game that dates back to ancient Egypt and was later popularized in medieval Europe. The game has evolved into various versions worldwide, including English Draughts and International Checkers.

Emoji Checkers adds a fun, modern twist to the traditional game by allowing players to use customizable emojis as pieces, making each match unique and expressive.

Now featuring a powerful robot opponent with four difficulty levels: Easy (random), Medium (safe moves), Hard (minimax AI), and Expert (advanced minimax with quiescence search and improved evaluation). The robot always takes mandatory captures and supports multi-jump moves.

How do I select an emoji for my pieces?
You can choose an emoji from the dropdown menu before the game starts. If you want a custom emoji, select "✨ Custom Emoji" and paste any emoji you like.

Can I play against a computer?
Yes! Select "Player vs Robot" in the Game Mode dropdown above. The robot now supports four difficulty levels:

Easy: Random valid moves, prefers jumps.
Medium: Prefers safe moves, avoids immediate capture.
Hard: Minimax AI (depth 3), always takes mandatory captures.
Expert: Advanced minimax (depth 6) with quiescence search and improved evaluation, much harder to beat.

The robot always takes mandatory captures and supports multi-jump moves.

What happens when a piece reaches the other side?
It becomes a King, gaining the ability to move and capture both forward and backward.

Can I play with different board sizes?
Yes! You can choose from different board sizes, ranging from 4x4 for quick games to 12x12 for advanced strategic play.
